The Manipal constabulary connected Saturday, February 28, booked cases of unlawful assembly, rioting, and transgression trespass against Gurme Suresh Shetty, Kapu MLA, who led the Kambala Kare instauration programme astatine 80-Badagubettu village, Kota Srinivas Poojary, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP, and others.

Cases were booked based connected the ailment of Udupi tahsildar Gururaj, who accused Mr. Shetty, Mr. Poojary, MLAs Yashpal Suvarna, V. Sunil Kumar, A. Kiran Kumar Kodgi, Gururaj Gantihole, Harish Poonja, and Rajesh U. Naik, Dhananjay Sarji, MLC, Lalaji R. Mendon, erstwhile Kapu MLA (all from BJP), Udupi territory BJP president Kuthyar Naveen Shetty, Karnataka Kambala Association president Belapu Deviprasad Shetty, and others, of violating the prohibitory orders issued connected February 27 by Udupi Deputy Commissioner T.K. Swaroopa, and conducting the instauration chromatic laying ceremonial for the Kambala Kare connected February 28.
