The 77th Republic Day celebrations were held with patriotic fervour astatine the Armed Reserve Ground, astatine Anakalpalayam, present connected Monday (January 26, 2026).
The celebrations began astatine 8.05 a.m. with Collector S. Kandasamy unfurling the nationalist emblem and receiving the ceremonial defender of honour from the constabulary parade. He honoured state fighters and their ineligible heirs by draping shawls and presenting mementoes, and released tricolour balloons.
The Collector presented certificates of appreciation to 141 authorities officers, employees and constabulary unit for exemplary work crossed assorted departments. On the occasion, helium besides distributed authorities payment assistance worthy ₹1.28 crore to 30 beneficiaries.
Cultural programmes were presented by 562 students from 7 schools, featuring patriotic songs, people performances and Bharathiar compositions. The Collector distributed certificates and shields to the participating students and commended their performances.
Superintendent of Police A. Sujatha, District Revenue Officer S. Santha Kumar, Assistant Collector (Training) Kanchan Choudhary, elder territory officials, constabulary personnel, dignitaries and the nationalist were present.
