Railway police seize unaccounted gold worth ₹1.09 crore at Perambur station

As portion of intensified surveillance for the upcoming Assembly election, the Railway Protection Force’s (RPF) peculiar squad seized golden ornaments valued astatine ₹1,09,59,000, which were unaccounted for, astatine Perambur railway station.

Under the supervision of Inspector-RPF of Thirumailai, the peculiar squad boarded an explicit bid astatine Perambur. Two persons, R. Ravi Kumar (51) and A. Sridhar (44) from Coimbatore, were detained connected suspicion. Though their bags contained lone clothes, frisking led to the betterment of concealed golden ornaments weighing 843 grams.

Due to deficiency of valid documentation, the valuables were seized and handed implicit to the Income Tax Department for further action, the RPF said.
