The erstwhile Director General of Police (DGP) R. Sreelekha has submitted a plea earlier the Kerala High Court seeking to quash a lawsuit registered against her earlier this period nether the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly revealing the individuality of insignificant rape survivors done her YouTube channel. Ms. Sreelekha is simply a councillor of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation now.
The lawsuit had been filed nether provisions of the POCSO Act and Section 72 (that prohibits the printing oregon publishing of immoderate substance that reveals the individuality of a unfortunate of intersexual offences) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. According to the First Information Report (FIR), the occurrence successful question related to the Kiliroor and Kaviyoor intersexual battle cases and allegedly disclosed details that could pb to the recognition of the survivors.
