Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has fixed his assent to the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Bill, 2026, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said connected Sunday (April 19, 2026).

The Bill projected stricter punishment, including beingness imprisonment and a good of up to ₹25 lakh, for immoderate enactment of sacrilege against the Guru Granth Sahib.
