Chief Minister N. Rangasamy has sought the Centre’s involution for securing the aboriginal merchandise of 11 fishermen from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry who were detained by the Sri Lankan Navy recently.
In a missive to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar connected Tuesday, the Chief Minister said the Sri Lankan Navy has captured 10 fishermen from Karaikal portion of the Union Territory and 1 from Sirkazhi successful Tamil Nadu portion they were sportfishing successful their mechanised vessel adjacent Kodiyakarai connected January 1.
The Chief Minister has urged the External Affairs Minister to instrumentality due steps connected precedence ground with the Sri Lankan authorities for securing the merchandise of captured fishermen and their boat.
