 The task to make energy from nutrient discarded in Sivaganga, which was praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been stalled, resulting successful machinery worthy respective lakhs of rupees going to waste.

 Under the Rurban Mission, a strategy to make energy from nutrient discarded was established at Kanjirangal village near Sivaganga at a outgo of ₹66 lakh. 

This task was launched connected August 10, 2021, done the efforts of the past District Collector P. Madhusudhan Reddy and Panchayat President Manimuthu. 

Under this project, energy could be generated from two tonnes of nutrient discarded per day. The indispensable vegetable, chicken, and food nutrient discarded for this was collected regular from the Kanjirangal Panchayat and Sivaganga Municipality areas.  

Later, they crushed it, mixed it with water, and poured it into the retention installation there. It decomposed and turned into methane gas. Through this, they operated a generator and produced 220 kW of electricity.  

The energy obtained from this was being utilized for streetlights in Kanjirangal, four battery vehicles and the electrical motors there.  

Due to this, the energy measure for the panchayat was reduced by respective 1000 rupees. Further, the installation besides provided employment opportunities to astir 3 locals.

Upon learning astir this, Mr. Modi praised this task successful his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program. The backstage institution that established this strategy maintained it until the twelvemonth 2023. After that, the Panchayat Administration itself undertook the energy procreation work. 

The task was stalled about six months agone owed to a machinery breakdown. As a result, machinery worthy respective lakhs of rupees is going to be wasted. The section residents urged that this project, which was praised by the Prime Minister himself, should beryllium brought backmost into use.
