A viral video, successful which Ladakh Director General of Police S.D. Singh is seen claiming that activistic Sonam Wangchuk was arrested connected directions of the Defence Minister, is deepfake, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) said connected Tuesday (September 30, 2025).
It said the DGP has made nary specified statement.
"A digitally altered video of Ladakh DGP Dr. S.D. Singh is circulating connected societal media, successful which helium is shown making claims that Sonam Wangchuk was arrested connected directions of the Defence Minister, without immoderate evidence," the PIB's Fact Check portion said.
"Beware of specified AI-generated videos shared with the intent to mislead nationalist and origin disorder and panic," it said.
The PIB Fact Check portion further advised radical to enactment vigilant, ever verify contented earlier sharing, and assistance curb the dispersed of misinformation.
