PESCE students win Smart India Hackathon

A squad of students of P.E.S. College of Engineering (PESCE), Mandya, emerged arsenic the wide winners successful the hardware variation of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025. The Smart India Hackathon is organised nether the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, successful collaboration with AICTE and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell. The finale of SIH 2025 was held astatine Galgotias University this month.

The winning students see Ananya R. from Civil Engineering; Karan Dhandale from Electrical and Electronics Engineering; Swarna Diksha S. from Mechanical Engineering; R.M. Monith Surya from Robotics and Artificial Intelligence; Abhishek J.S. from Computer Science and Engineering and Nandan T. Nayak from Civil Engineering.

Out of 1.2 lakh teams from crossed the state who participated successful the hackathon, 1,300 teams qualified for the last round. In the Healthcare and Prosthetics category, astir 500 teams had registered, but lone 5 teams reached the finals. Among them, the PESCE squad secured the winning position, excelling successful innovation, method precision, and societal relevance. The winning task focuses connected a low-cost innovative exertion to amended the comfortableness and precision acceptable of artificial limbs.

K. S. Vijayanand, president of People’s Education Trust (PET), Mandya, N.L. Muralikrishna, principal, Vinay S., vice-principal, and module members of PESCE congratulated the students.

Pavana K.N., coordinator of PES NEXT Innovation and Incubation Centre, and Shalvian John D’Souza, incubation manager (Infinity), provided method guidance to students.
