Pensioners from assorted institutions staged a objection astatine the BSNL caput bureau successful Tirupati connected Friday, protesting what they termed a draconian instrumentality enacted by the Union government, alleging that it would adversely impact pensioners.

Responding to a telephone fixed by the Forum of Civil Pensioners Associations, Tirupati, members gathered astatine the bureau and raised slogans against the authorities for thrusting what they described arsenic an unjust Pension Validation Act, 2025. The Act would wounded the interests of astir 65 lakh pensioners of the Central government, State governments and nationalist assemblage undertakings, the demonstrators said.

The protestation was led by erstwhile Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax A. P. Naidu, forum president A. R. Soundarrajan and convener Y. S. Raju. They demanded that the presumption of notation of the 8th Pay Revision Commission beryllium amended to widen benefits to BSNL and MTNL pensioners and that long-pending dues beryllium fixed from 01.01.2026.

Pensioners representing the Department of Telecommunications, BSNL, Postal and RMS services, security companies, Grameena banks, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs and the railways took portion successful the objection and expressed solidarity.
