A one-day State-level consultative gathering for youth, leaders, and women representatives of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) and forest-based indigenous communities was held astatine the Karnataka State Tribal Research Institute present connected January 5.

Chairing the meeting, Minister for Public Works Satish Jarkiholi held discussions with tribal assemblage leaders and officials. He received representations from tribal youths and reviewed the issues raised during the interaction.

Community leaders highlighted cardinal problems faced successful tribal habitations, including education, housing, employment, drinking water, electricity, and roadworthy connectivity, and sought the Minister’s intervention.

Directing officials to analyse the representations successful accordance with rules, the Minister asked them to instrumentality indispensable steps to code the issues. He besides stressed the request to grow skill-based grooming programmes for tribal communities and to organise consciousness programmes connected nutritious nutrient and steadfast dietary practices.

Officials from assorted departments, including Yogesh T., manager of the Karnataka State Tribal Research Institute and the Department of Social Welfare (Scheduled Tribes), on with younker from tribal and indigenous communities, were present.
