The Palakkad Division of Southern Railway has awarded 23 rider amenity assets done an e-auction successful January 2026, securing a full declaration worth of ₹15.26 crore crossed 12 stations, including 9 Amrit Bharat stations.
A merchandise present stated that the e-auction covered a scope of revenue-generating rider facilities aimed astatine enhancing commuter convenience and improving presumption infrastructure.
The awarded amenities see battery-operated cars astatine Palakkad, Kozhikode, and Shoranur junctions to facilitate casual question of otherwise abled and aged passengers; mobile-charging kiosks astatine Kozhikode, Parpanangadi, Payyanur, Kannur, and Kasaragod junctions, enabling passengers to recharge their mobile phones straight connected platforms; ROMT-mode (Renovate, Operate, Maintain & Transfer) retiring rooms, dormitories and sleeping pods astatine Kannur Junction; parking country astatine Kozhikode Junction; two-wheeler wrapping installation astatine Palakkad Junction to assistance passengers successful packing bikes and different luggage for transport; catering stalls astatine Kannur and Mangaluru junctions; multipurpose stalls astatine Palakkad, Tanur and Parpanangadi junctions; cloakroom astatine Thalassery junction; attraction and manning of wage and usage toilets astatine Tirur, Mangaluru Central, and Pollachi junctions; and a marque promotional kiosk astatine Payyanur Junction.
The inaugural reflects the division’s continued efforts to augment non-fare gross portion simultaneously upgrading rider amenities and services crossed cardinal stations. The facilities are expected to importantly amended rider experience, convenience, and accessibility, the merchandise said.
