National Institute of Technology-Karnataka, Surathkal, organised a formation cleaning thrust astatine NITK Beach connected Sunday, September 21.
Over 500 participants, including faculty, staff, students and Mangalore City Corporation personnel, cleared the litter to beforehand coastal cleanliness. The inaugural is portion of the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2025 and Special Campaign 5.0, themed ‘Swachhotsav’, supporting the Swachh Bharat Mission’s extremity of a garbage-free India.
The SHS Campaign 2025 is structured successful 2 phases: Phase 1 (September 17 to October 2) focuses connected wide consciousness and shramdaan astatine nationalist spaces, portion Phase 2 (October 3 to October 31) emphasises sustained cleanliness drives and discarded management.
NIT-K Surathkal has planned a bid of Swachhata events crossed some phases to beforehand these objectives. Volunteers took a cleanliness pledge and collected respective bags of discarded for due disposal during the formation drive.
