Environmental organisation Poovulagin Nanbargal has urged the Tamil Nadu authorities to marque biology clearance mandatory for large-scale star powerfulness projects, stating that the accelerated enlargement of ground-mounted star parks is progressively encroaching connected cultivation and grazing lands.

In a connection issued connected Tuesday, the organisation referred to the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s September 2025 report, Solar PV Potential of India – Ground Mounted, which estimates that India tin make 3,343 GW of star powerfulness by utilising 27,571 sq. km. of mostly arid and wasteland areas.
