Newly elected legislators to take oath on Wednesday

The Puducherry Assembly has been convened connected Wednesday for the oath-taking of recently elected legislators.

Pro-tem Speaker A. Anbalagan would administer the oath to legislators, including Chief Minister N. Rangasamy and 2 Ministers who were sworn-in connected May 13 aft the National Democratic Alliance retained powerfulness successful the 2026 Assembly elections.

Assembly Secretary J. Dayalane, meanwhile, has issued a merchandise announcing the Assembly Secretariat’s determination to judge the resignation of Mr. Rangasamy from Thattanchavady constituency.

Mr. Rangasamy had contested from Thattanchavady and Mangalam constituency. After winning both, the Chief Minister had resigned from the Thattanchavady seat, portion retaining the Mangalam constituency. He had submitted the resignation missive to Mr. Dayalane connected May 17.
