As portion of the nationwide inaugural of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi, and nether the directions of the Tamil Nadu State Legal Services Authority (TNSLSA), a National Lok Adalat was held crossed Tiruchi territory courts connected Saturday.
A full of 23 Lok Adalat benches were constituted — 13 benches astatine the Tiruchi tribunal complex, 2 each astatine Musiri, Thuraiyur, Manapparai, and Lalgudi, and 1 each astatine Srirangam and Thottiyam. Various categories of cases were taken up and disposed of done amicable settlements, benefiting litigants.
According to authoritative data, 20,669 cases were taken up during the Lok Adalat, of which 5,882 cases were settled, resulting successful settlements amounting to implicit ₹52.82 crore.
Among the cases settled were 4,817 compoundable transgression cases, involving a colony magnitude of astir ₹95.9 lakh, 402 centrifugal mishap compensation cases amounting to implicit ₹25.5 crore, and 199 cheque dishonour cases involving settlements of astir ₹7.48 crore. Other cases included slope indebtedness betterment matters, labour compensation cases, household payment disputes, onshore acquisition cases, and different civilian disputes. In addition, 363 pre-litigation slope indebtedness betterment cases were besides settled.
The arrangements for the National Lok Adalat were made nether the directions of Principal District Judge M. Christopher, with A. Prabhu, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Tiruchi, coordinating the event.
