The Madras School of Social Work (MSSW) connected Saturday presented the 30th Mary Clubwala Jadhav Award for Humanitarian Service to Bal Pandian, popularly known arsenic the ‘Bird Man of Koothankulam’, and Thuvakkam Welfare Association, an NGO, for their contributions to conservation.

R. Nataraj, MSSW secretary, presented the awards, on with a currency prize of ₹1 lakh each. A property merchandise said Arun Krishnamurthy, founder, Environmentalist Foundation of India, delivered an endowment lecture emphasising biology work arsenic integral to humanitarian service.

He highlighted the request to region encroachments on waterbodies and reconstruct lakes, informing of ecological imbalance and taxon decline.

K.A. Mathew, president, MSSW, delivered the statesmanlike address. MSSW main S. Raja Samuel, and dean R. Subashini were among the participants.
