Following complaints of h2o flowing from Mullaperiyar dam to Vaigai dam being drawn illegally successful definite areas, causing h2o shortage successful the tail-end areas, Water Resources Department officials conducted an inspection and seized amerciable pipelines and motors utilized for drafting the h2o illegally.
The WRD officials, on with Tangedco and constabulary officials, conducted associated inspections on the agelong from Kullappagoundanpatti to Karunakkamuthanpatti and from Kottur to Upparpatti.
During the inspection, they recovered that h2o was being stolen for cultivation lands with illegally installed motors and pipelines. The amerciable pipelines and motors were seized by the officials. The officials said further probe was nether mode to ascertain whether energy was besides being stolen.
The officials said owed to the amerciable activities the tail-end farmers and the nationalist were affected. Continuous monitoring would beryllium carried out. Severe enactment would beryllium taken against those who instal motors without support and indulge successful h2o theft.
