MEO arrested for demanding, accepting bribe of ₹40k in Paderu

Officials from the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a Mandal Education Officer (MEO), Paderu, Alluri Sitharama Raju district, portion allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of ₹40,000, connected Thursday.

As per officials, the Mandal Education Officer, Paderu, Mori John demanded a bribe of ₹40,000 from a retired teacher to guardant the teacher's pension proposals to the bureau of the Accountant General - Vijayawada. The complainant was unwilling to wage the bribe and lodged a ailment with officials of ACB, Visakhapatnam.

On January 8, the accused Mori John was caught by ACB officials portion demanding and accepting the bribe magnitude of ₹40,000 from the complainant and was arrested and produced earlier the Special Judge for ACB cases, Visakhapatnam.

Searches are being conducted astatine the residential and bureau premises of the accused.

The accused, Mori John was selected arsenic a Secondary Grade Teacher successful 1990 astatine Peda Lagudu colony successful Araku mandal.
