MCD contractual workers continue with indefinite hunger strike

The indefinite hunger onslaught of home breeding checkers, multitasking unit and contractual tract workers of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for regularisation of their services and different benefits entered the 4th time connected Thursday.

The workers, connected declaration and protesting since Monday, request adjacent pay, aesculapian and earned leave, and compensatory jobs for the families of deceased employees.

“We volition not extremity our protestation until our demands are met and we person a written order. Verbal assurances are not enough,” said Devanand Sharma, caput of the Anti-Malaria Ekta Karmachari Union.

A gathering was held connected Tuesday betwixt Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh, Leader of the MCD House, Parvesh Wahi, Health Department officials, national representatives, and MCD officials. However, nary statement was reached connected the workers’ demands.
