Mangaluru court sentences minor rape accused to 20-year imprisonment

A Mangaluru tribunal connected Saturday sentenced Dayanand Moolya to 20 years of imprisonment and imposed a punishment of ₹30,000 connected uncovering him blameworthy of raping a seven-year-old girl.

The 2nd Additional District and Sessions Judge, Fast Track Sessions Court-2, Mangaluru, K.S. Maanu, sentenced 44-year-old Moolya for the offence punishable nether Section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, work with Section 65(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 4(2) of POCSO Act. In default of outgo of penalty, helium shall acquisition further elemental imprisonment of 3 months.
