Man gets two years rigorous imprisonment for attempt to murder

The First Additional Subordinate Court successful Coimbatore connected Wednesday sentenced a protagonist of a close helping organisation to 2 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) for attempting to execution a BJP worker, accusing him of attempting to person Hindus into Christianity, successful 2018.

First Additional Subordinate Judge B.S. Kalaivani awarded the punishment to K. Radhakrishnan of Gandhi Nagar astatine Sivananda Colony successful the city.

According to the police, Radhakrishnan was a protagonist of RSS and R. Thangaraj, 52, from the aforesaid locality was a BJP worker. Thangaraj converted to Christianity successful 1994 and continued to stay successful the party. Radhakrishnan assaulted him with a sickle, accusing him of converting Hindus to Christianity, connected April 19, 2018. He was arrested by the Rathinapuri police.

The tribunal recovered him blameworthy and awarded 2 years of RI and a good of ₹1,000 for the execution attempt. He was awarded six months of imprisonment on with a good of ₹1,000 for transgression intimidation.
