A peculiar tribunal for the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act successful Villupuram, connected Wednesday, convicted and sentenced a 31-year-old antheral to 20 years imprisonment for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl.
Special Court Judge M. Vinodha besides imposed a good of ₹10,000 connected the accused person, N. Gowthaman of Mailam.
According to the prosecution, the unfortunate had visited her grandmother’s location connected April 3, 2021. The perpetrator abducted the miss and sexually assaulted her. The Tindivanam All Women constabulary registered a lawsuit nether the POCSO Act and arrested Gowthaman.
The tribunal besides ordered ₹2 lakh compensation to beryllium fixed to the survivor.
