Pudur constabulary arrested a 55-year-old antheral connected Friday for possessing counterfeit notes amounting to ₹3,44,000.
The constabulary were engaged successful a regular patrol work and they conducted a hunt astatine a market store owned by G. Murugan, 55. During inspection, it was allegedly recovered that banned baccy products were being illegally stored for sale.
Subsequently based connected suspicion regarding the possession of further baccy products, the constabulary searched his residence. During the hunt suspicious bundles were scrutinised by the constabulary and they recovered ₹500 successful counterfeit notes amounting to a full worth of ₹3,44,000 concealed.
The Pudur constabulary registered a lawsuit and arrested Murugan.
Police besides seized baccy products and the counterfeit notes from his possession. Further investigations are on.
