The Maharashtra authorities connected Friday introduced the Freedom of Religion Bill, 2026 successful the Assembly during the ongoing Budget Session. “The nonsubjective of the Bill is to support the close to state of religion. It besides aims to prohibit unlawful spiritual conversions carried retired done coercion, fraud, inducement, oregon marriage,” Minister of State for Home Pankaj Bhoyar said portion introducing the draught law.

It proposes stringent provisions, including imprisonment up to 10 years and good up to ₹7 lakh, for forcible conversion.
