A Sub-Inspector of Police posted astatine Kollur constabulary presumption successful Cyberabad Commissionerate was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) connected Friday (December 2, 2026) portion accepting a bribe of ₹20,000 from a complainant.
The accused officer, identified arsenic M. Ramesh, demanded the bribe for deleting the complainant’s sanction from a transgression registered nether Section 318 (4) (cheating involving invaluable information oregon property) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Essential Commodities Act. According to the ACB, the accused had initially demanded ₹30,000 and had already accepted ₹5,000 connected December 17, 2025.
Amount of ₹20,000 was recovered from the possession of the officer. The accused was arrested and produced earlier the Special Court for ACB cases successful Hyderabad.
Further probe is underway, portion the individuality of the complainant has been withheld for information reasons.
