The Kalaburagi-headquartered Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) connected Thursday disbursed compensation cheques of ₹10 lakh each to the families of 22 employees who died successful work nether the corporation’s Internal Group Insurance Scheme.
Appointment orders were handed implicit to 18 dependants who had been selected for jobs nether compassionate grounds.
KKRTC president Arun Kumar Patil distributed the cheques and assignment orders astatine a programme held astatine the corporation’s headquarters.
Speaking connected the occasion, Managing Director B. Susheela explained that the Internal Group Insurance Scheme was operated from September 1, 2011 to December 31, 2021 nether a contributory model.
“Under this scheme, ₹100 was deducted each period from each employee’s salary, with an further ₹50 contributed by the administration. In lawsuit of an employee’s death, the nominee was provided a compensation of ₹3 lakh . From January 1, 2022, the publication has been revised to ₹200 from employees and ₹210 from the corporation, importantly enhancing fiscal information for families. The compensation has been accrued from ₹3 lakh to ₹10 lakh for dependants of deceased employees,” she said.
He said KKRTC follows the 2018 Compassionate Appointment Policy connected compassionate appointments. Applications are processed strictly based connected seniority and availability of vacancies successful the cadres sought by the dependants, with appointments made astatine the divisional level.
Families of employees from assorted divisions – Kalaburagi (Division 1 and 2), Raichur, Koppal, Ballari, Vijayapura, Bidar and Hosapete – received compensation cheques connected Thursday.
