Mohanan defeated Senior Congress(S) person and erstwhile Minister Kadannapally Ramachandran by a borderline of 18,551 votes successful the Kannur Assembly constituency connected Monday. Mr. Mohanan secured 70,620 votes, portion Mr. Ramachandran got 52,069 votes.
