The State authorities has reportedly finalised names of 3 candidates for filling vacancies successful the Karnataka Information Commission.

A gathering chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is said to person finalised the names of erstwhile IAS officer Richard Vincent D’Souza, journalist Venkat Singh, and erstwhile writer and presently serviceman connected peculiar work to Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti, Mahesh Valvekar.

Earlier, the Congress government appointed three journalists arsenic the accusation commissioners.

Sources said that the State authorities is expected to issue a notification connected the assignment of the 3 accusation commissioners connected Monday (October 13, 2025).

Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H. K. Patil attended the gathering and finalised names, the sources said.

Chief Information Commissioner Ashit Mohan Prasad is expected to discontinue October 31, 2025.
