Karnataka govt. raises maximum age limit for recruitment in Sub-Inspector and Constable posts

Home Minister G. Parameshwara connected Friday ordered amendments to unbend the property bounds for the recruitment of Police Sub-Inspectors and Constables.

In a high-level meeting, Mr. Parameshwara directed the section to amend the cadre and recruitment rules, raising the maximum property bounds for Sub-Inspector posts to 32 years for candidates from SC/ST and backward classes and 30 years for wide class candidates. For Police Constable posts, the property bounds volition present beryllium 30 years for SC/ST and backward people candidates and 27 years for wide class candidates.

Previously, nether the cadre and recruitment rules, the precocious property bounds for Sub-Inspectors was 30 years for SC/ST and backward people candidates and 28 years for wide class candidates. For Constables, it was 27 years and 25 years respectively.

Mr. Parameshwara told The Hindu that relaxing the property bounds for constabulary recruitment had been a long-standing demand.

“After elaborate discussions with elder officials of the Police Department, I person ordered these amendments. This volition unfastened up opportunities for thousands of occupation aspirants,” helium said, adding that helium has besides directed the section to expedite the filling of vacant posts.
