Karkala’s Yaksha Rangayana to perform three plays in Bengaluru

The artistes of Yaksha Rangayana, based in Karkala, will bring three productions to Bengaluru, to be staged from December 27 to December 29.  

The repertory theatre will perform Dr. Shivarama Karanth’s Somiya Soubhagya, a philharmonic directed by Ganesh Mandarti, at Suchitra Cinema and Cultural Academy, connected December 27 astatine 7 p.m. 

The different 2 plays are Mahatmara Baravigaagi, a Kannada adaptation of R.K. Narayan’s ‘Waiting for Mahatma’, directed by Srikanth N.V., and Egyptian playwright Tawfiq al-Hakim’s Gulaamana Swatantrya Yatre, directed by B.R. Venkataramana Aithal.  

Both plays will be staged connected December 28 and December 29, respectively, at Kasturi Ba Aptha Rangamandira at 7 p.m. 

About Yaksha Rangamandira 

The Yaksha Rangayana, established in Karkala in March 2022, is among the six branches of Rangayana in Karnataka, set up with the purpose of nurturing the State’s diverse determination languages, dialects and nuances. 

The repertory envisions gathering a modern theatre utilizing the myths, stories and poems of Yakshagana, portion besides spreading the taste richness of coastal Karnataka.
