Retired prof and writer Narendra Rai Derla connected Tuesday said that Kanakadasa and Narayana Guru were saints who stood for societal equality and spiritual upliftment, thereby bringing radical unneurotic contempt their differences.

He was delivering a speech connected ‘Kanakadasa and Brahmasri Narayana Guru’s Thoughts’ astatine a programme organised by the Kanakadasa Research Center, Mangalore University, and Shri Gokarnanatheshwara PU College, Mangaluru, here.

Mr. Derla highlighted the value of Kanakadasa’s “Kanakana Kindi” and Narayana Guru’s “Kannadi” (mirror), symbolising the value of self-reflection and knowing one’s existent nature. He noted that Narayana Guru’s initiatives, specified arsenic opening libraries and establishing gardens wrong temple premises, showcased his accent connected acquisition and nature.
