Jewellery, cash stolen from house near Erode

Eight sovereigns of golden jewellery and ₹1.25 lakh successful currency were stolen from a location astatine Chinniyampalayam present connected Sunday (June 21, 2026).

The constabulary identified the location owners arsenic Viswanathan and Rajeswari of Bharathi Nagar. Rajeswari runs a tailoring store astatine Ganapathipalayam.

According to the police, the mates had gone to a temple and stayed astatine a relative’s house. When they returned location connected Sunday night, they recovered the beforehand doorway was broken. A cheque revealed that 8 sovereigns of golden jewellery and ₹1.25 lakh successful currency kept successful a bureau were missing. The Modakkurichi constabulary visited the spot and conducted an inquiry. Fingerprint experts collected clues from the house. A lawsuit has been registered and investigations are nether way.
