The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has conducted the investigating of a sub-scale thrust enclosure for LOX-Methane Engine which would beryllium inducted successful the adjacent procreation of motorboat vehicles.

The trial was conducted astatine the Thrust Chamber Test installation astatine ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC), Mahendragiri connected January 27, 2026.

“The sub-scale thrust enclosure and azygous constituent injector caput were successfully tested to a enclosure unit of 56 bar. The sub-scale thrust enclosure and azygous constituent injector caput were realised done additive manufacturing. Ignition and occurrence sustenance wrong the thrust enclosure were achieved and show of each systems were normal,” ISRO said.

It added that the trial nonfiction volition beryllium further utilized to prime the optimal injector configuration done a bid of further blistery tests.

The abstraction bureau said that the improvement of the indispensable motor subsystems is progressing astatine the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre of ISRO and the investigating of these subsystems astatine a smaller standard (sub-scale) has commenced.

“An optimally designed thrust enclosure with injector caput is cardinal to the occurrence of immoderate cryogenic engine. ISRO has successfully conducted the archetypal blistery trial of the precocious thrust LOX-Methane Engine astatine thrust enclosure level with a azygous constituent injector,” ISRO said.
