Inter-university netball tourney for women begins in Vijayawada

The All India Inter-University Netball (Women) Tournament 2025-26 commenced astatine Maris Stella College successful Vijayawada connected Saturday. Fifty-five assemblage teams from crossed the state are participating successful the five-day lawsuit organised by Krishna University.

According to a property release, the tournament, scheduled from February 14 to 18, is being conducted connected a knock-out-cum-league ground nether the supervision of Netball Association of India.

Minister for Transport, Sports and Youth Services M. Ram Prasad Reddy, who was the main guest, stated that sports foster strength, teamwork and determination. “Netball is much than a game. It is empowerment, assurance and friendship. These players animate america with their accomplishment and sportsmanship,” helium said.

Krishna University Vice-Chancellor K. Ramji welcomed the dignitaries, including Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammohan, Maris Stella College main Inyasamma, and others. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Ramji said their corporate purpose was to beforehand sports connected par with education.

A march past by each 55 participating teams became the item of the inaugural ceremony. This was followed by a set show by students of St. John’s School, Gannavaram.
