With 11 insignificant fires reported successful Coimbatore Forest Division areas this year, the Forest Department has stepped up vigil and preventive measures.

District Forest Officer N. Vengatesh Prabhu said discussions were held with the Kerala counterparts for inter-State coordination arsenic Madukkarai, Boluvampatti, Coimbatore, Periyanaickenpalayam and Karamadai ranges of Coimbatore part stock wood boundaries with the neighbouring State.
