The Indian Navy connected Monday (November 24, 2025) commissioned INS Mahe, the archetypal of the Mahe-class anti-submarine warfare shallow h2o craft, which is expected to boost its combat prowess.

Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi was the main impermanent astatine the commissioning of INS Mahe, marking the caller procreation of indigenous shallow-water combatants — sleek, swift and resolutely Indian.

Built by Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), INS Mahe represents the cutting borderline of India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) inaugural successful naval vessel plan and construction. Compact yet powerful, the vessel embodies agility, precision and endurance - qualities captious for dominating the littorals, the Navy said.

With her blend of firepower, stealth and mobility, the vessel is designed to hunt submarines, behaviour coastal patrols, and unafraid India's captious maritime approaches, it added.
