In Salem, 11.12 lakh ration card holders benefit through 1,747 ration shops, says Minister

Tourism Minister R. Rajendran connected Friday said that successful Salem district, done the 1,747 ration shops, 11.12 lakh ration holders are benefitting.

The Minister inaugurated 4 ration shops that were constructed astatine a outgo of ₹51.70 lakh astatine Pachagoundanur, Marivalavu, Vennampatti, and Pachanampatti that travel nether the Omalur and Tharamangalam panchayat unions and a part-time ration astatine Mattukaranur. Inaugurating the ration shops, helium distributed ration items to the cardholders.

Speaking astatine the function, helium said the Chief Minister provides capable funds to amended the ration shops’ infrastructure. In Salem district, determination are 1,747 ration shops, including 1,265 full-time and 482 part-time. Through these shops, 11.12 lakh ration paper holders are benefiting. Explaining the functioning of ration shops, the Minister said that for the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme, wheat, rava, rice, and vermicelli are sent from ration shops to 1,284 schools successful the district, done which students studying from classes I to V are benefitting. Likewise, nether the Thayumanavar scheme, 92,998 ration paper holders are receiving the ration items astatine their homes from past month.
