Students from 10 authorities schools successful the coastal areas of Pudukottai territory were sensitised to mangrove ecosystems and the value of mangroves for coastal resilience, biodiversity conservation, and livelihood astatine a two-day consciousness programme organised astatine coastal Manamelkudi colony connected Wednesday and Thursday.
The two-day “School Based Mangrove Nursery Education Programme” was organised jointly by the Forest Department, Pudukottai, Education Department and the OMCAR Foundation under the Environment Education Programme.
The nonsubjective of the programme was to make consciousness among students astir mangrove ecosystems and the value of their conservation. The programme was conducted successful 2 batches with 100 students participating connected each day. The District Forest Officer, Pudukottai S.
