‘Illegal and arbitrary’ SIR faces statewide protests in Karnataka

Describing it as “illegal and arbitrary”, a human rights radical nether the banner ‘My Vote, My Right’ held a statewide protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, with protestors alleging that large-scale deletions of elector names person undermined antiauthoritarian information and governmental equality.

Protests were held in Tumakuru, Udupi, Belagavi, Bengaluru and Raichur, among different districts of the State.
