The Telangana Food Safety squad conducted inspections crossed each 33 districts arsenic portion of the ongoing ‘Spices Drive’ initiative, covering implicit 30 spice manufacturing and repacking units successful the State.

During the drive, much than 40 enforcement and surveillance samples of chilli, turmeric, achromatic pepper, coriander, curry leafage powder, and bay leaves were collected for analysis.

During the inspection, 15 kg of achromatic  capsicum  and 18 kg of bay leaves contaminated with rat faeces were seized and sent for laboratory   testing.

Violations were detected astatine 2 facilities, M/s Srivari Spices & Foods Limited successful Jalpally of Rangareddy district, and M/s Divine Spices located astatine Kapila Nagar Colony, Bandlaguda Jagir, Hyderabad. Food information inspectors reported pest and rodent infestation, unhygienic premises, lack of a Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) trained supervisor, unlabelled and expired products, and deficiency of aesculapian fittingness records for workers.

During the inspection, 15 kg of achromatic capsicum and 18 kg of bay leaves contaminated with rat faeces were seized and sent for laboratory testing. Curry leafage pulverization recovered without due labelling was besides confiscated for violating the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations, 2020.

Multiple betterment notices were issued and contaminated stocks seized. Enforcement enactment was initiated to guarantee harmless and hygienic spice accumulation crossed Telangana, shared Commissioner of Food Safety connected X.
