HRF condemns arrest of APCLC leaders

The Human Rights Forum (HRF) has condemned the apprehension of Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Committee (APCLC) leaders by the Tirupati Police successful transportation with the mounting up of banners related to the Committee’s 20th State meeting. The lawsuit was registered connected January 09, 2026, by Tirupati East constabulary and APCLC’s vice-president and advocator Kranti Chaitanya and a printing property proprietor D. Mohana Krishna were arrested.

Cases were registered against different leaders of APCLC including its State president Hemadri, the HRF said.

According to HRF State wide caput Y. Rajesh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana coordination committee subordinate A. Chandrasekhar and State caput G. Rohith, the constabulary registered cases nether assorted Sections of BNS and different Acts connected charges of insulting the nationalist emblem among others. The banners depicted the absorption towards the ideology of the ruling dispensation and were not violative of immoderate law, they said.

The HRF leaders said that the banners did not incite immoderate incorrect feeling against immoderate religion and demanded the contiguous merchandise of the arrested APCLC leaders and besides withdrawal of cases against the Committee leaders.
