A Special Privileges Committee of the Maharashtra legislative assembly has recommended a five-day jailhouse condemnation for 4 journalists for defaming subordinate Amol Mitkari by moving “false and fabricated” quality against him.

Prasad Lad, president of the committee, informed the Upper House of the State legislature connected Saturday (December 13, 2025) that a YouTube transmission named ‘Satya Ladha’ had broadcast fabricated and mendacious reports against Mitkari to tarnish his nationalist image.

Mr. Mitkari had filed a breach of privilege question against the 4 Akola-based journalists — Ganesh Sonawane, Harshada Sonawane, Amol Nandurkar, Ankush Gawande — and Satya Ladha, exertion Satish Deshmukh.

Mr. Lad informed the assembly that the Special Privileges Committee conducted an enquiry into the ailment and concluded that Ganesh Sonawane, Harshada Sonawane, Amol Nandurkar and Ankush Gawande were liable for broadcasting defamatory and misleading material.
