Hamsini, a 12-year-old pistillate hippopotamus who suffered from a terrible corruption pursuing intrauterine foetal death, died astatine Tyavarekoppa Tiger and Lion Safari successful Shivamogga astir 3 p.m. connected April 14.

This was the 3rd gestation for the 12-year-old hippo. She had delivered a calf successful 2024. But, the calf drowned. In 2025, she delivered different calf. But, that calf besides died aft being attacked by its begetter — the antheral hippo — soon aft birth.
