The Kerala High Court connected Friday closed a plea by St. Rita’s School, Palluruthy, which challenged a directive issued by the Deputy Director of Education (DDE) to licence a Class VIII pupil of the schoolhouse to be classes by wearing the hijab (head scarf).
This was aft the tribunal was informed that the student’s parents had decided to discontinue her studies astatine the schoolhouse and to admit her successful different institution. The student’s counsel submitted that determination was nary request to escalate the situation.
A Bench of Justice V.G. Arun said the tribunal was blessed to enactment that amended consciousness had prevailed and ultimately, fraternity, 1 of the foundational principles connected which the edifice of Constitution is built, remained strong.
Seeking quashing of the DDE’s directive, the schoolhouse had a week agone contended that officials of the State Education section had nary authorization implicit interior regulations (like uniform) of CBSE schools.
