Members of the Hassan territory portion of the Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha (KPRS) staged a protestation successful beforehand of the Deputy Commissioner’s bureau successful Hassan connected February 4, urging the territory medication to assistance onshore to landless Dalit families of Karekere Kavalu colony successful Hassan taluk.

KPRS leaders, on with Dalit Hakkugala Samiti and residents of the village, staged a dharna successful beforehand of the bureau and besides submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner connected the issue.

KPRS territory president H.R. Naveen Kumar said the State authorities granted 246 acres of land, located successful assorted survey numbers of Karekere Kavalu village, to 30 Dalit families successful 1966. Among them, lone 10 families took possession of the onshore and cultivated it, portion the remaining 20 families did not cultivate the onshore granted to them.

However, 47 further landless Dalit families possessed the aforesaid onshore and had been cultivating it for the past 60 years. They had submitted applications for the assistance of onshore according to forms 50, 53, and 57 of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act. Meanwhile, a fewer vested interests had been attempting to evict these families from the onshore they had been cultivating.

“These 47 families person nary alternate onshore to cultivate. Considering their semipermanent possession and cultivation, the authorities should assistance them onshore by cancelling the erstwhile grants,” Mr. Kumar demanded..

Dalit Hakkugala Samiti territory president M.G. Pruthvi, Karekere Kavalu colony residents H. Swamy, Panduranga, Devaraju, Sunil, Ravi Kumar, Dharma, Meenakshi, and others led the protest.
