Former extremist Hagrama Mohilary-led BPF connected Saturday (September 27, 2025) won the Assam’s Bodoland Territorial Council elections by bagging 28 of 40 seats. Meanwhile, the ruling UPPL and BJP got 7 and 5 seats respectively, astir fractional of what they won successful 2020.

The Bodoland People's Front (BPF) improved its tally from the 17 seats it had won past clip and secured an implicit majority, they said.

The United Peoples Party Liberal (UPPL) and the BJP, some confederation partners successful the outgoing Council, finished acold down with 7 and 5 seats, respectively.

Mr. Mohilary won the Debargaon constituency but mislaid the Chirangduar seat, and outgoing BTC main and UPPL nominee Pramod Boro emerged victorious successful Goimari.

Mr. Boro mislaid the Dotma seat.

The BPF had emerged arsenic the azygous largest enactment successful the 2020 polls with 17 seats, but the UPPL formed the Council with the enactment of the BJP and the Gana Suraksha Party (GSP).
