The Anakapalli constabulary connected Thursday invoked the Prevention of Illicit Traffic successful Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPS Act) against a habitual ganja smuggler, Chinni Krishna (35) of B. B. Patnam, Rolugunta mandal.
Considering that the accused was a habitual offender, Superintendent of Police, Tuhin Sinha, submitted a study to the authorities recommending stringent action. After reviewing the report, the Principal Secretary issued orders done a G.O and directed the invocation of the PIT NDPS Act. Following the orders, Kothakota Circle Inspector G. Koteswara Rao took the accused into custody and shifted him to Visakhapatnam Central Jail connected Thursday. The constabulary said that a idiosyncratic detained nether the PIT NDPS Act is improbable to get bail for up to a year.
