A full of 2,119.65 kg of contraband ganja, seized successful 448 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act cases by antithetic constabulary stations crossed the city, was destroyed by the Greater Chennai City Police connected Monday. 

The Drug Disposal Committee (DDC), constituted arsenic per orders of Greater Chennai City Police Commissioner A. Arun, carried retired the technological disposal of seized narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances done incineration astatine an authorised installation adjacent Chengalpattu complying with each biology and ineligible standards.

The disposal was conducted by the Chairman of Drug Disposal Committee, K. Joshi Nirmal Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police, Headquarters and the members included R. Sakthivel, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Intelligence Section-1) and others.

Police said a full of 1,613 kilograms of contraband ganja, seized successful 308 NDPS cases by antithetic constabulary stations crossed the metropolis past twelvemonth were destroyed connected September 26, 2025 and November 1, 2025.
