The authorities has constituted a State-level committee nether the chairpersonship of the Chief Secretary for effectual implementation of Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules, 2026. The Supreme Court had successful February this twelvemonth issued directions to States for effectual implementation of SWM Rules. The committee volition urge measures to the State Pollution Control Board for effectual implementation of the Rules.
The committee consists of the Additional Chief Secretary/Principal Secretary/Special Secretary of the Local Self Government, Environment and Revenue departments; Principal Director of LSGD; Executive Director of Suchitwa Mission; Project Director of Kerala Solid Waste Management Project (KSWMP); Executive Director of Kudumbashree; Managing Director of Clean Kerala Company Limited; Chief Engineer of LSGD; and Chairperson of the State Pollution Control Board.
